www.justoffroad.com .... Quad racing pages !

Welcome to a few pages dedicated to my mates who have chosen to
race the beasts of all beasts the "quad". Speaking from experience these
four wheels machines have a mind of their own & anyone who races
one has my unconditional respect !

First up my racing buddy Jeff, used to race a perfectly good [& quick]
TM250E until he suffered a knee injury, intensive surgery & training got
the strength back into the joint but not the complete movement. Things looked
bleak for Jeffs racing career until some guy offered him a crazy deal .. "my quad
[350 banshee] for your TM", personally I thought Jeff was mad but having seen him
tame the wild-one, I'm well and truly impressed .. nice one mate !

In Jeffs words -
The tank and rad cover I've painted black, added a set of Duncan Racing graphics. Now put
some graphics on the rear fenders, painted the frame dark red to go with the plastics [nice].
As for the spec' I'm running a RD350YPVS motor, the YPVS will be working when I finish the
wiring. 28mm flatslide carb (normal is 26mm roundslide) jetting 27.5 pilots 310 mains,k&n filter
no air box lid, Paul Turner Hi-Rev pipes and Fat Boy silencers. Gearing 14/41 but range from
12/41 to 17/41 depending on track or enduro open event. 18"rear shreader tyres or 20" kenda klaws
to suit circuit. Braided brake hoses with fully synthetic brake fluid no fade there, gripper seat cover
and mx wiring loom which is very basic [less to go wrong]. You know me, no stone unturned [ehh you mean
bolt surely Jeff ?] so I've just done a complete strip down to bare metal and full nut-n-bolt rebuild.
More later as the season unfolds, Jeff !

meetings which cater for Quads
& Solos.
A lot of work over the winter has
resulted in a trick looking Yam,
ready-n-waiting for the season to
begin !
